The exhibit at Global Café has proven to be a successful one, and the experiences I have gained for the past few days will go a long way in my memory.

I am indeed very delighted to share my work and my experience with the people of this community. Their love for the arts, and their support for the arts, has been an indelible experience for me. The creative climate in Cape Girardeau and the great creative individuals living there are truly an asset to this country. I am fortunate for the receptiveness of my work, as well as the hospitality that has been afforded to me.

I am humbled and very grateful for all that has been put in place to make this successful. In my way to show appreciation for this community’s generosity, I have donated several pieces to organizations in hopes that it will provide some economical benefits.

As a creative mind, understanding the aesthetic worth residing in all of us, I have had a unique experience from the Cadmium River Artists Group in Cape Girardeau. Their goal of fostering and promoting art is an enviable knack that I appreciate a lot. I appreciate the opportunity to participate in this creative climate afforded me by Mr. Randall Hays, who has the ability to organize and effectively bring together creative minds.

Mrs. Melissa Whitaker, a dedicated member of the Cadmium River artist group, introduced my work to Mr. Hays, and he made the bold and risky decision to display my paintings here. The role and place of the arts in any society is indispensable. The recognition, support, and appreciation of the arts are much needed for its viability. I am very appreciative of all the media has done.

In particular, I would like to thank the following for their hard work and dedication, in making my show a success: Mr. Hays for his foresight, leadership and creative ability; the Cadmium Art Group, including Darlene Spell, Karoline Gunter, Melissa Whitaker, Thomas Ert-man, Tara P. Cardwell, Erin Schloss, Marti Hartle, Belin Lichtenegger; and others, Chris Harris of the Southeast Missourian newspaper, Elane Moonier of The Cash-Book Journal, KFVS-12, and Landon Hays.

I am grateful that my work has impacted the community of Cape Girardeau, and for the extended invitation to return with another exhibit next year. It is my hope that this community will continue to provide similar opportunities to other creative individuals. I urge the public to support the art community.

My creative endeavor is truly for the world to enjoy. They are elements of inspiration revealing fragments of my imagination. One of the greatest sources of joy I have derived in this life comes from my ability to create; I am lost in them and become one with them.

Inspirations are derived from everything around me, from the sounds of running water to the quiet of the night, I hear sounds of inspiration, I feel nuances from the silence of the dark, just as I do from the bright daylight of the morning.

Creativity for me is a continuous daily part of my life; I am continuously striving to keep still, so as not to drowned by my creative prospects or everything around me that inspires me too. From the noise of the city around me and even from the cluster of my own creative self, I always juggle to find the find beauty in everything, as well as strive to add to the quality of our lives through my interpretation of the world around me. I believe that we all have a role to play in influencing our community as well as society, and yes but for the better…

I love life, and all the prospects that life offers, I wish to in my little way let my little light shine, by creating works of art that will bring visual-aesthetic enrichment, as well as promote unique creative prospects of enriching our world.

The burst of the sun, the coolness of the night are of great resources for me. Just as I have had an insurmountable and uncontrollable joy in the creation of this exhibit, it is my hope that you too, will experience the visual and emotional excitement of the figments of my imagination.

Figments of my imagination artist musing

As night falls, I drift into emptiness
Since you are not here,
For the stillness of the night brings on a lonely song
I dread the night, for it is but another loveless time for me.
I hear the crickets and night gale sing, and the moon light and
stars lights up the skies, though it is a quite atmosphere,
but my heart glides away in a hundreds of places.
The sounds of loneliness and the imageries
of times spent with you,
the flicking sight of hope, and
Dreams, fades away, so fast.
My head, is clustered with rhythm of joy,
but my heart is drowned by pitfall and mystery.
I conjure imagries of hope, fanning the hurts and
scares to happier and sweet memories.
I search for meaning in the mess, hope in my hopelessness and
a miracle from my misery. I soon drift away to a dreamland…
Lights flicking in my mind in a burst of kaleidoscope, and
My fractured heart like a crushed rose soon leaps for joy.
Drained and dampened,
windswept by the roughness of time, pale and
Wrinkle I get… but all I could do are but sit and
sketch on paper fragments of my imagination.
I like this place, oh what a dream,
Oh what a dream, it reveals those sights, and
Sounds of hope. They are beautiful,
Oh no Randy and Melissa,
I will want to stay here in my dreams,
please do not wake me up,
for I just want to embrace the fragments of my imagination.
And create these images for your city.

Mother’s Day Exhibition

This exhibit is a dedication to my wonderful mama, all mothers, to five dynamic sisters, Martha, Eunice, Ruby, Irene, Mercy, and to every woman that has nurtured me through my life’s journey… and a tribute celebrating the beauty of sisterhood.

Sweet Mother, I am so grateful for the blessing of having you as my mama.
I am forever indebted to you for all the sacrifices,
hard work, and pain.

I am thankful that you and Papa never gave up on me.
I am indebted for your guidance, provisions,
and wisdoms–– even the chastening.(whopping)
Oh how I made you pull your hair due to my stubbornness and often going astray.
Not once did you spare an opportunity in correcting me.

Your love, your kindness and your dedication and patience continues to bring yields.
I am grateful that you and papa believed in my dreams.
It’s wonderful to know that you never gave up on me despite my foolish ways.

Words cannot describe my appreciation to you.
I want you to know that I am working hard and making constant strides to be the man you want me to be.

In this world, you are truly one of my most precious and revered treasures.
There’s no one more important to me, for the beauty of your love shines through me now that I am a man.
My love for you, neither time nor space can comprehend.
My mother, sweet mother, your love for me is like a symphony played by a master cellist.
Sweet refrain, sweet melody.

I love you; I often carry you and papa everywhere I go, in words and indeed…
Though millions and millions of miles apart, you are still close, even as close as my dearest of friends…I am grateful for the times we shared together.

Thank you for the great lessons, beautiful truths, and precious secrets you taught me.
Withholding nothing, you freely gave of yourself to all of us, and to many that called you mother.
You stand tall, reaching beyond the call of duty, as my protector and guide.
Oh a sweet melody, a sweet refrain.
For every remembrance of you, I say thank you.

With Love Everlasting,
Your Son,
Timothy Ufuoma-Efe Orikri
